Santiago Manuel Garrido is a PhD in Social Sciences and Humanities (National University of Quilmes), a Specialist and Master in Social Sciences with a mention in Social History, and Professor of History (National University of Luján).

He is currently an Assistant Researcher at CONICET, a researcher at the Institute of Studies on Science and Technology (IESCT) and a professor at the National University of Quilmes, Social Sciences Department. He is a professor of the Master in Science, Technology and Society, the Diploma in Strategic Design of Technologies for Inclusive Development and the Specialization in Management of the Social and Solidarity Economy of the same University. He also teaches postgraduate courses in the Specialization in Management of Technology and Innovation of the National University of San Martin and the Master of Science, Technology and Innovation of the National University of Río Negro.

His research work focuses on the field of social studies of technology and innovation. In particular on technologies for inclusive and sustainable development and renewable energies. Currently he directs the research project "Energy, Society and Development in Argentina (1991-2017)" funded by the National University of Quilmes and PICT project 2016-1522: “Renewable Energy Technologies and dynamics of inclusive and sustainable development. A socio-technical analysis of public policies and institutional strategies for the development and implementation of Renewable Energies in Argentina (1991-2016)” with funding from ANPCyT.

Social Studies of Technology; History of technology; Technologies for Inclusive and Sustainable Development; Renewable energies.
